Guaranteed To

If I was guaranteed to be rich or in love I would choose to be rich. This is because I have already been in what I would classify as love. When your rich you can control everything regarding finances and spending but while in love another person can control things too. This goes beyond the person whom one is dating; this can include people who try to break the couple up such as parents, an ex, and people who want to hook up with your significant other. One can always find love, but it is harder to earn money.

New York, money make the world go round
L.A., money make the world go round
Midwest, money make the world go round
Down South, money make the world go round
Southside, money make the world go round

We're Playing Basketball

For those of you who do not recognize this song it is called "We're playing basketball" by Bow wow. This was the first song I ever did for dance back when I was only 11 years old. I cannot believe that I have already been taking dance for six years.

In case you haven't already guessed my topic for today is BASKETBALL!!

This weekend I had the "Privilege" to go to my cousin's b-ball game in Hamilton. This was the final game not only of her tournament but also of the season. My cousin's team and her opponents were duking it out for the gold medals. My cousins team was ahead by 1 point until the last 20 seconds when the other team got a free throw. The other team managed to tie it up in the last 20 seconds of the game. Needless to say the game went into overtime. My cousin's team was in the lead for most of the game with the other team trailing behind by four points. Until two minutes before the end of the game, the opponents tied the game up. The teams battled back and forth, each one slightly ahead of the other. Until with twenty seconds left the opposing team got a penalty shot and managed to pull ahead by two points. The opposition won the game and my cousin's team was left with silver medals.

Decades

If I could transport myself to any decade I would choose to go to the 1940's in Germany. I would love to experience World War II but I wouldn't want to be involved in the actual fighting. Mainly I would like to see the politics behind the war as well as the different strategies used by both sides. I think it would be cool to see how Jewish people were protected from getting persecuted in secret houses and such. While this decade is known for World War II many exciting and positive things happened during this decade. These include invention of the slinky, Tupperware, microwave, and the Frisbee.

During this time period a lot of nations declared independence from other nations such as Iceland from Denmark, Indonesia from the Netherlands, and the establishment of the State of Israel.

There were also many activists during this time period some considered good and some not to good. The most obvious being Hitler, Founders of the People's Republic of China, and Stalin on the negative side and Gandi, Churchill and Muhammad Ali Jinnah (Gained Pakistan's Indepence from the British in 1948).

Graffiti

I have no problem with graffiti if the artist gets approval from the owner of the building or the city. I know that if part of my property was vandalised I would be furious because I would have to spend my money to remove this. I also have no problem with graffiti so long as it actually looks nice and is not some person writing some stupid thing such as:

However I am strongly against graffiti on things such as war monuments or cemeteries:

I often look at graffiti as a form of art if it isn't disrespectful or nonsense such as above.

School Politics

In my opinion school politics are a good thing to have in school. School politics allow students to see how elections are run in the real world. Candidates have the opportunity to speak in front of the school if they are in the top four. Doing this allows the candidates to gain practice in public speaking as well as learning how to run a campaign. Even though the co-prez' don't get to make a lot of change in the way the school is run it is still a good experience. I was originally planning on running this year but decided not to in case I decide to not come back next year. Even though I probably would not have won I still thought that it would be better not to.

Summer 2011

This summer I am working at AMKAD Metal Components then I am going to Europe (Italy, France, Spain, UK) for a month maybe more before I head off to university. I'm pumped for London and the rest of Europe but I'm uber pumped to go to Motherwell (bigger than Kitchener smaller than Toronto). This is probably one of the worst largest cities I've been to. The only reason I want to go here is because of the people. The people here are so friendly, I always started conversations with random people who always had connections to our home and native land. But most of all I'm excited to see some of my best friends, Sean and Jamie. I was talking to Sean (during Writers Craft, I think this sparked some creativity huh Feick?) and he said that he was going to start a cough beer cough fund cough when I come back to the UK and he's planning on throwing a lot of parties. I will also be legal age so I can go into certain locations. I'm really looking forward to this because I'm obviously focused on school work at the moment.

U.K. A Trip Went Wrong

This past summer I went to the U.K. I went for three weeks to visit my family in Glasgow, Scotland. While there I really enjoyed my trip and everything seemed to be going fine. Until the final day. My dad was driving me to the airport. Now in the U.K. everyone drives on the opposite side of the road as most people know. We were driving on a road with four lanes, two going one way and two going in the opposite direction with a metal barricade separating the two directions. We were driving on the outside lane in my dad's girlfriend's car when suddenly we were rear ended by a lolly. (British transport truck) We spun out of control and our back end was slammed into the metal barricade. The force of this caused us to fly forward and hit the truck head on. We also flew a few feet of the ground. We were then slammed back into the barricade. The police had to use the jaws of life to get my dad out (everyone is fine now). The only damage done is I didn't (yet) get compinsated for my missed flight, my laptop was destroyed, and my dad's girlfriend is now a convertible.
