Guaranteed To

If I was guaranteed to be rich or in love I would choose to be rich. This is because I have already been in what I would classify as love. When your rich you can control everything regarding finances and spending but while in love another person can control things too. This goes beyond the person whom one is dating; this can include people who try to break the couple up such as parents, an ex, and people who want to hook up with your significant other. One can always find love, but it is harder to earn money.

New York, money make the world go round
L.A., money make the world go round
Midwest, money make the world go round
Down South, money make the world go round
Southside, money make the world go round

We're Playing Basketball

For those of you who do not recognize this song it is called "We're playing basketball" by Bow wow. This was the first song I ever did for dance back when I was only 11 years old. I cannot believe that I have already been taking dance for six years.

In case you haven't already guessed my topic for today is BASKETBALL!!

This weekend I had the "Privilege" to go to my cousin's b-ball game in Hamilton. This was the final game not only of her tournament but also of the season. My cousin's team and her opponents were duking it out for the gold medals. My cousins team was ahead by 1 point until the last 20 seconds when the other team got a free throw. The other team managed to tie it up in the last 20 seconds of the game. Needless to say the game went into overtime. My cousin's team was in the lead for most of the game with the other team trailing behind by four points. Until two minutes before the end of the game, the opponents tied the game up. The teams battled back and forth, each one slightly ahead of the other. Until with twenty seconds left the opposing team got a penalty shot and managed to pull ahead by two points. The opposition won the game and my cousin's team was left with silver medals.

Decades

If I could transport myself to any decade I would choose to go to the 1940's in Germany. I would love to experience World War II but I wouldn't want to be involved in the actual fighting. Mainly I would like to see the politics behind the war as well as the different strategies used by both sides. I think it would be cool to see how Jewish people were protected from getting persecuted in secret houses and such. While this decade is known for World War II many exciting and positive things happened during this decade. These include invention of the slinky, Tupperware, microwave, and the Frisbee.

During this time period a lot of nations declared independence from other nations such as Iceland from Denmark, Indonesia from the Netherlands, and the establishment of the State of Israel.

There were also many activists during this time period some considered good and some not to good. The most obvious being Hitler, Founders of the People's Republic of China, and Stalin on the negative side and Gandi, Churchill and Muhammad Ali Jinnah (Gained Pakistan's Indepence from the British in 1948).

Graffiti

I have no problem with graffiti if the artist gets approval from the owner of the building or the city. I know that if part of my property was vandalised I would be furious because I would have to spend my money to remove this. I also have no problem with graffiti so long as it actually looks nice and is not some person writing some stupid thing such as:

However I am strongly against graffiti on things such as war monuments or cemeteries:

I often look at graffiti as a form of art if it isn't disrespectful or nonsense such as above.

School Politics

In my opinion school politics are a good thing to have in school. School politics allow students to see how elections are run in the real world. Candidates have the opportunity to speak in front of the school if they are in the top four. Doing this allows the candidates to gain practice in public speaking as well as learning how to run a campaign. Even though the co-prez' don't get to make a lot of change in the way the school is run it is still a good experience. I was originally planning on running this year but decided not to in case I decide to not come back next year. Even though I probably would not have won I still thought that it would be better not to.

Summer 2011

This summer I am working at AMKAD Metal Components then I am going to Europe (Italy, France, Spain, UK) for a month maybe more before I head off to university. I'm pumped for London and the rest of Europe but I'm uber pumped to go to Motherwell (bigger than Kitchener smaller than Toronto). This is probably one of the worst largest cities I've been to. The only reason I want to go here is because of the people. The people here are so friendly, I always started conversations with random people who always had connections to our home and native land. But most of all I'm excited to see some of my best friends, Sean and Jamie. I was talking to Sean (during Writers Craft, I think this sparked some creativity huh Feick?) and he said that he was going to start a cough beer cough fund cough when I come back to the UK and he's planning on throwing a lot of parties. I will also be legal age so I can go into certain locations. I'm really looking forward to this because I'm obviously focused on school work at the moment.

U.K. A Trip Went Wrong

This past summer I went to the U.K. I went for three weeks to visit my family in Glasgow, Scotland. While there I really enjoyed my trip and everything seemed to be going fine. Until the final day. My dad was driving me to the airport. Now in the U.K. everyone drives on the opposite side of the road as most people know. We were driving on a road with four lanes, two going one way and two going in the opposite direction with a metal barricade separating the two directions. We were driving on the outside lane in my dad's girlfriend's car when suddenly we were rear ended by a lolly. (British transport truck) We spun out of control and our back end was slammed into the metal barricade. The force of this caused us to fly forward and hit the truck head on. We also flew a few feet of the ground. We were then slammed back into the barricade. The police had to use the jaws of life to get my dad out (everyone is fine now). The only damage done is I didn't (yet) get compinsated for my missed flight, my laptop was destroyed, and my dad's girlfriend is now a convertible.

Next Year

Next year I plan on going to the University of Guelph for International Development. I have been accepted into this program as well as Law and Society at Wilfrid Laurier. I also applied for International Development and Planning at the University of Waterloo but I do not want to go there anymore. I talked to Dirt on Friday and he suggested I take a double degree? at Laurier, where I can get a business and a teaching degree at the same time. I have started to consider this so now I am torn between Guelph and Laurier. Since grade seven I have wanted to attend Laurier in part due to Jump (a trip to the university for grade sevens). This year I wanted to go to Waterloo until January when I wanted to go to Laurier or Guelph. Then I wanted to go to Guelph with no doubt in my mind. Now however, like I previously stated, I have no freaking clue.

Ms. Feick has taken over my computer account and wrote random things to people she doesn't know. Can you say creep?

Next Year

As far as plans for next year, I am hoping to go to the University of Guelph. But it would be super awesome if I took a fifth year with my favouritest person ever in the whole wide world, Alex Urlando. She's pretty rad and I should probably take a fifth year with her.

Carpe Diem

Why Carpediem

Carpediem
It means seize the day;
Try and enjoy life
The sky’s not that grey.

Easy for them to say
They have Don’t have it bad
They don’t know how you feel
And it drive you mad

They can seize the day
If they bloody want it
But in this day and age
The day ain’t worth my spit

Your life maybe be hell
And it turns you insane
Carpediem
A phrase for the mundane

So why should I Carpediem
Should I conform and live life for them
I take my dignity
That’s my Carpediem

Timothy Venard

I chose this poem because it talks about seizing the day. This is our school's motto.

I chose this picture because it says carpediem both frontwards and backwards. It also reminds me of the movie "Angels and Demons" because this is the method the Illuminati use for the four elements.

USA

This March break I decided to go with my family to Michigan, USA to go shopping. while I am enjoying this trip it is brutal because I am staying with 8 women and 4 more are coming tomorrow. Also I am the ONLY GUY on this trip. WHAT THE HELL WAS I THINKING!!!! We spent at least 9 hours driving and shopping before we reached our hotel room and I honestly could have gotten the same clothes in Kitchener. However I'm not complaining because this road trip is better than sitting at home doing really late projects for the entire week. :)

Ashley's Medal

This morning as we are all sitting in Writers Craft  "diligently" working on our blogs, as usual Ashley steals my water bottle and consumes the entire contents inside. Every single day she does this and she can never manage to open the bottle because "I put it on too tight". This morning however she managed to open the water bottle herself and I feel that she deserves a gold medal for this. This one is for you Ashley.

By the way my grandma is the one who fills my water bottle every morning.

Travelling

This summer, as some of you know, I had the opportunity to travel to the UK for my summer holidays. While I was there I met a guy from Argentina who is around my age. Recently he has asked me to come visit him in his home country Argentina. While I would really like to do this I think it might be awkward because I have never meet his family. I also plan on spending my summer in the UK for the majority of my summer so I am uncertain about how to fit all of this in. I am told that I am supposed to elaborate on my blogs but I am uncertain about how to do this. Miss Feick any advice on how to elaborate?

Fifth Year?

I am starting to consider a fifth year again because even though I know what I would like to do, I am uncertain if I truly want to move on in my life. For me I can't really see the point of fifth year because I would just take courses that I do not really need in order to go to university. The main reason I want to come back is because I don't want to say goodbye to WO and all of the things that I have been involved in during my high school career. One of the reasons I want to stay is because of a cause that is very important to me. This cause is the environment. Our school no longer has an environment club because of the environment committee. However this group really doesn't raise awareness about the importance of the environment and is mostly made up of people who want to be in SAC but not do a lot of work. I would really like to stay and help this committee become a recognizable committee for SAC and actually consist of people who, like me, are dedicated to preserving our planet.

Dance

Every year my dance studio has a year end recital with a different theme. This year our theme is travel and countries or something to that effect. My jazz class is doing Waka Waka by Shakira for our theme and my class is going to be the Africa portion of this recital. I have been taking dance at Onstage Dance Studio for 6 years now. Not too sure on what my hip hop song will be yet. My dance teacher, Miss Jess, is about 8 months pregnant so we will be having a new dance teacher soon who will teach us our entire dance. This will be pretty weird for me because I have had Jess my entire dancing career. We are meeting our new teachers next week and I am looking forward to this new learning opportunity.
Lately I have been considering quitting my job. I have worked at this location for almost four years and I am really starting to get sick of it. I'm getting really stressed with all of my school assignments and university. I am also currently trying to maintain an 85% average so that I can go to the university of my choice. Regardless of whether or not I quit now, I will be quitting before June because I am planning to travel all summer and in order to study for my exams. I also have a ton of extra curricular activities which can get pretty stressful. For instance, on Wednesdays I go to school from 6:00-2:35, DECA from 3-4:30, and work from 5-10. Which leaves no time for homework or other things. My grandparents are also in Australia for 6 weeks so I'm pretty much running their business on top of what I already do.

whaddaya Think?

I must say that I am really enjoying this class. However like anything in life their are a few things I would change. Such as the children's story. Personally I hate having to write in short paragraphs and dumbing myself down for an audience. I feel like I'm five years old again. However I understand that this is a vital role in the literary world and has just as much importance as anything else. This just happens to be one of the things that I have never enjoyed that much so that would probably be why. and yes, Miss Feick I do realize I still need to do my children's story. I am really looking forward to the short stories because I have a really good idea for this and I actually plan on handing this assignment in on time. One thing I don't like is how us university students have to write 2 blogs because I never know what to write about so more suggestions would be perfect. As far as what I need to improve on in this course is the fact to do my children's story and to keep my blogs up to date.
