It's because I'm green isn't it?

I would have to say that I am a Grinch; I get told this on a daily basis. I always complain about things and I'm quite satirical. I'm not actually serious I just do it for the enjoyment and it is a way to keep myself entertained.  Its not the fact that I don't like Christmas cause I do. Its just that I hate sitting around for over four hours talking to people I don't know and I'm like WHO ARE YOU? I guess its part generic because my dad absolutely hates parties and other events. Personally I would rather prefer to stay at home and not have to do anything.

Hyperbole and a Half

So our challenge this week was to find a blog we enjoyed more than politics and old letters. This is honestly the hardest assignment I've ever had to do. Not. In fact this is a joke as there are so many things I enjoy more than old people and their problems.

The blog I enjoy most is Hyperbole and a Half. This blog is really funny and always manages to make me laugh. There are a lot of funny pictures on the site and it deals with childhood, dogs, moving and even a story about the magical alot.

http://hyperboleandahalf.blogspot.com/2010/04/alot-is-better-than-you-at-everything.html

The blog also includes stories from when the author was younger and she looks suspiciously like a fish.

I also learned how to play seven exciting games with a brick. One game is called "Duck Duck Brick" and I will include photos to teach you how to play.

Another game I enjoy is "Truth or Brick"

What Was Feick Thinking?

I looked at those blogs that were assigned to us by Feick. I decided to write a blog telling her off but sadly this didn't save. I guess that's for the best. However I am still going to vent about how displeased I am about this assignment. This is honestly the most pathetically sad thing I've had to write about. Politics in the States or some creepy guy who writes weird letters about celebrities. Honestly I don't give a feick about either and I refuse to say anything else on the issue.

My Crush

When I was in public school I had the biggest crush on one girl in my grade. This one person I was friends with told everyone because she thought that this girl and her were bffs but in reality the one girl really didn't like the other. So to get back at her I found a  piece of paper with her crush on it and gave it to the loudest kid in class who told everyone. This was back when everyone in our class ate lunch together so everyone found out in less than a minute. Rvenge is sweet. Eventually the girl I liked and I went our separate ways and I haven't seen her since. Recently my cousin started dating her so it is kinda weird seeing her again especially when I haven't seen her for four years.

Oh The Places I Would Go

If I could go anywhere in the world I would go to a wide variety of places.

1. The UK my home away from home, my dad lives in Scotland and my "step mom" who really isn't my step mom and her kids live in England. I spent my entire summer there and I am missing it like crazy. I made so many friends this summer and I really miss going to pubs with them. We would also jump on a train and travel several hours away just for fun and to go to clubs and pubs. I also really miss spending time in Liverpool and at my cottage near London. A bunch of my friends and I are planning a trip there this summer seeing as how I can no longer go for Christmas.

2. I would love to go to Europe. Like most people at this school my family immigrated from this continent centuries ago. In Switzerland my family has a city named after us which would be sweet to see. My family also immigrated from places such as Germany, lived in France for a bit.(German part), and Ukraine. I would like to go to every country in this Continent excluding some of the former Soviet Union because that would take forever to travel throughout that area. I would probably go to the countries with the best attractions.

3. South America such as Brazil and Argentina. As I stated earlier in my blog I have a friend in Argentina and I would love to meet him. I have also wanted to go to these countries because they seem quite appealing to me.

4. Visit every province and state in Canada and the US.

My Pet Peeve

First and foremost I would have to say that I have a lot of pet peeves but I've learned to embrace them to such a point that I can't even think of what they are until they happen and I think to myself I was annoyed by that. The one pet peeve I have that really annoys me is when people don't recycle properly and I don't mean people debating whether a straw is recyclable or not.( It is not just in case your wondering). No I'm talking about the people whom put cling wrap and chip bags etc. in the recycling bins. It's clearly NOT recyclable.

At this point I know a few people reading this are rolling their eyes because they know that I am heavily involved in environment projects and are probably sick of my passion. A pet peeve that I apparently do is chew gum really loudly. This is why I try not to chew gum around other people. People also say when I chew gum, eat, or talk my hair moves up and down as I do these activities.

My Childhood

If I could relive one day of my childhood I would probably go back to the time when I was about six years old. When I was younger I lived in the country but not one of those farms that was in the middle of nowhere. In fact our farm was about as close to a town as you can get while still being in the country and our farm is located on a major highway that connects to the 7/8. On this day I was curious as to where my dog Max went during the day. So I decided to follow him. We went through the corn field and spent a couple of hours both inside the field and out. My grandparents, aunts, and mom said I got lost that day and could not find me. I however believe that I was never lost and that they were not looking hard enough for me because I was in the cornfield for half an hour and spent the rest of the time under a tree in the backyard with my dog. I would love to go back to that day just so that I could prove them wrong.

The Nerve of Some People's Children

Right now I should probably working on my law but I really do not want to think about starting that right now. So instead I will still be productive by working on my blog. Last night I came home from OSLC; a trip that I believe will be the best school trip of the year that I will have. Later that night I went to dance in Stratford where I take hip-hop and jazz. After dance that night we showed our holiday show dance so far to another class and they showed us theirs. The owner of that studio also happens to be one of the dance teachers too. She sat us down and we had a very serious discussion regarding the fact that over the summer there were some very serious break ins and thousands of dollars have been stolen. This is also the reason as to why there are bars over the windows.

This we already knew so it wasn't a surprise when she brought it up. Now she was telling us that someone in one of these two classes is responsible for this and had propped open the boy's bathroom window less than an hour ago. After this little meeting I saw one of the girls do a little raise the eyebrow thing as if to say I told you this wouldn't work. They were also quick to joke about it and say "Oh it was this person you little rebel you" as if to deflect any suspicion anyone might have about them. Whoever this person is they have caused a lot of grief for the owner of this studio seeing as how she is only 22, put her heart and soul into this studio,  already lost thousands and we are now dancing in a prison.

Surprise

Yesterday my grandma told me a really funny story that happened to her during her day working at home. She was cleaning the windows and she started to clean our giant window above our door. She had the door open because she was cleaning the inside and outside and had to use a ladder to clean the window. After she finished cleaning the inside part of the window she started to climb down the ladder and happened to glance down.

At this point in time I should tell you that we live on a farm and there is a ton of cats around. Now these cats are wild and we do not really own them they have just been dropped off at our house and breed over the years. Well as she was coming down she happened to notice something in the house and immediatly thought it was a cat. Well she thought this cat is pretty brave coming in my house and was getting prepared to shoo it out of the house. Upon a second glance she realized that this was no ordinary cat in fact it was not a cat at all, in reality it was a racoon. She jumped up the ladder in surprise and had no idea what to do. She thought this racoon must be sick or someone's pet to come inside my house. She shooed it out of the house and into the garage. She thought "I need to get a shovel and knock this racoon out." However she was
apprehensive because she thought this racoon would go crazy and that she would end up in the newspaper as an old woman who was attacked or killed by a rabid coon.

Argentina

Wow I just checked my stats bar and I have people from over six different countries viewing my blog.
The majority of them are from Canada, the U.S., and a few from the U.K. Then I have a bunch of countries that only have one view. Some of them are Thailand, Argentina, El Savador, and a few countries in Africa. It's a little weird because I only know the people from Canada, a few from the U.K and my buddy from Argentina. If your wondering how in the world I know someone from Argentina, well it's kinda a sketchy story. Not really but we meet online and I know that if I told my family they would probably faint and I would be shot by them. But hey to be honest I'm just embracing the 21 century and finding people who have the same interests as me. If your thinking how do I know he isn't some 40 year old perv still living in his mother's basement we have webcam chat so I do know that he is in fact the same age as myself. He can speak English very well and I am helping him to further improve his English. He has offered to teach me Argentinian which I guess is their dialect of Spanish. He is planning on being a pilot some day and hopes to soon get a certificate certifing that he can speak English. I guess it just makes it easier to get a job or whatever in an English speaking country. Some day I would really like to meet him and travel down to that part of the world.

My Weekend

This past weekend I have babysat children at my church, attended two seminars at my church, and had a potluck at church. Guess I'm just a devoted Mennonite. I was talking to several of my friends from different countries and I'm trying to stay involved in what is happening in their corner of the world. It was my mate Jamie's birthday and he turned 18. I told him I'd buy him a cider the next time I was in the U.K.

Debate Rages Over Cellphone Use In Classrooms

I definitely agree with this article. However because it is a newspaper article I feel that they should not be using things like LMAO, gr8, and OMG because it should still be a professional article. I do not think that this article is biased. I agree with the fact that students should be allowed to use cellphones and other forms of technology during class. I do not think that students should be allowed to use cellphones to text to friends in different classes about random things but this is a personal choice and is inevitable. It is also the responsibility for the student to pay attention in class. Schools need to start embracing technology and utilise it to help students learn. Technology will always be around now and will become more frequent in life. Straight out banning something doesn't prevent it from occuring. It's the same concept as marijauna and underage drinking. People will always find a way around it and it will create more problems if it's banned than it would if it was allowed.

Gotta just love a Saturday night at home, although I did go to the arena for a few hours but that was to work in the booth. Currently just on facebook, msn, listening to music, watching Family Guy, and of course working on my amazing school project my blog. Well not to sure what to say so I'll start with what I did this weekend and maybe I'll get some fantastically brillant idea. Last night also known as Friday I went over to my cousin's house where my family was making salsa. I tried to stay out of the kitchen so I was upstairs watching "How It's Made" with my cousins. Today I just had a relaxing day at home and worked on my law a bit. Tomorrow going to church, Mennonite in case your wondering. Supposed to read a chapter for it but I haven't done it yet. Just a rebel I guess. Haha no I'll probably read it tomorrow morning. Then I think I'm going to my Grandpa's brother's house. I don't know why though and maybe working in the arena again. So happy I no longer have French homework finally dropped that course and took International Business instead. Only wasted about half my life on that language. Sad thing is it would probably be benificial if im planning on going into law or work for the UN.

I was told my paragraphs are too long so I decided to start a new one. As of two days ago I've been assigned a curfew for being on my laptop and in about three minutes I'll be breaking it. It's weird because I don't have a curfew but I have one for being on my laptop? Confusing. Yesterday I booked a ticket to see Wicked, the play in Toronto on October 27 with some amazing people a couple who are in this class. Yea at this point im spitting out random things I have a tendency to do that or so I've been told that I never finish my thoughts. Also I phoned back Young Drivers just love getting harassed by them. they have a really grumpy receptionist. I need to give them a copy of my Driver's license in order to book my in-car. So if anyone knows how to scan stuff on to my computer let me know. Oh and I do have a scanner so I know it's possible somehow. Anyone notice how the "Chipmunks" make awful remixs of songs and it just wrecks the song for you. I think the thing that bugs me the most is they get like over a million hits and it's like how can you listen to this insanely high screeching. The only one they got better than the original is Hot and Cold by Katy my Lady. But that's not to hard to beat seeing her remix with Elmo. I can not spell at this point but I don't really want to get up and go to bed.

I think I'm going to either keep listening to music and maybe play a facebook game or watch a video by Fred. He doesn't seem that funny or interesting at first but i've learned to appreciate his creative genius abilities. To be honest he still annoys me a bit but he's good. You Tube him if you never have nothing to do. Just listening to "Don't Stop Believing" by the cast of Glee. Some of my bestfriends are Gleeks. Here and overseas. Speaking of overseas I'm so excited for christmas I have a one way plan ticket to the UK still need to buy one for a flight home. Can't wait to see everyone again. I love how I switch topics every sentence. Thinking I really need ro work on my organizational skills. Im the same with music i just went from Glee to Eminem and soon Kesha or Katy Perry. Im kinda the same with a lot of things like books, TV shows and my friends. I don't really fit into a group in school. I've been called a preppy drifter by a lot of people. Personally I like this title and it shows my uniqueness cause Im like the only one at school. I can hang out with smokers, nerds,drama/ artsy/ music people and pretty much any and every group. However I tend to stay away from the athletes. Im so lazy but I do dance and I have played soccer for most of my life kind of quit because of work, school, dance and now travelling to UK during my summers. Right now I've got two people trying to help me scan my license. Gotta love online connections.

Blog#1 About Me

My name is Dylan Brenneman. I am 17 years old and in grade twelve at Waterloo Oxford. The reason I took Writers Craft is because I would like to get into law when I am older and I feel that this is a chance to help me improve my writing abilities. I am currently taking seven courses they are: writers craft, business leadership, French, English, SAC, math, and law. After I graduate high school I would like to go to the U.K. to study law. I would like to be in Scotland and go to the University of Glasgow or Edinburgh. The reason I would like to go to the U.K. is because my dad and his family live over there. I am going to apply for a British citizenship which I should automatically get because technically I am first generation Canadian on my dad's side. Eventually I would like to travel all over the world and I am planning on starting with Europe. I would like to work for the UN or European Union when I am older. I would also like to become fluent in German, and possible French. I would also like to learn Italian and or Latin. A few of my favourite writers are Dan Brown, and Ted Dekker. I really like their novels because they are full of action and suspense. I am involved in a lot of extra-curricular activities after school including dance two nights a week at Onstage Dance Studio in Stratford, WAVYE, soccer and CWAC, this year I am also joining DECA, SWB, and the Yoga Club. I currently work at AMKAD Metal Components which is a very convenient job because it is right across from my house. I am an only child but I soon may have three step siblings who live in Liverpool, England. They are Lauren 19, Conor 17, and Jack 14.
