Debate Rages Over Cellphone Use In Classrooms
I definitely agree with this article. However because it is a newspaper article I feel that they should not be using things like LMAO, gr8, and OMG because it should still be a professional article. I do not think that this article is biased. I agree with the fact that students should be allowed to use cellphones and other forms of technology during class. I do not think that students should be allowed to use cellphones to text to friends in different classes about random things but this is a personal choice and is inevitable. It is also the responsibility for the student to pay attention in class. Schools need to start embracing technology and utilise it to help students learn. Technology will always be around now and will become more frequent in life. Straight out banning something doesn't prevent it from occuring. It's the same concept as marijauna and underage drinking. People will always find a way around it and it will create more problems if it's banned than it would if it was allowed.

Good point about the ineffectiveness of banning things, Dylan. Do you include laptops as the type of technology that students shouldn't be able to use in class? Watch your font--the super light blue is a wee bit tough to read. :)
ReplyDeleteI agree with "Tanzi" aka. Ms.Feick because I think I had a mini-seisure while reading your blog but I regained consciousness enough to agree with some of your points! Good job!
ReplyDeleteWell I think that students should be allowed to use cellphones in class but not to text people. However seeing as this is inevitable people should be allowed to text but only if they put their phones on silent. People also should be allowed to use laptops whether or not there is a ban on cellphones because some people have messy writing and it is easier to organize typed notes. I changed the font to orange hopefully it helps but if people are still having trouble reading it I suppose I would be willing to change it back to boring old black.
